Hi Lindsay
Your palettes are so inspiring! I’m a digital scrapbook designer and I am definitely going to make a kit based on these colors. I will try to let you know when I do! Thanks!

The issue I have with your site is you never tell us the actual colors? Why?

I found a website that converts the hex codes into paint colors according to brand of paint. Simple! Try googling, “hex codes to paint colors.” I’ve used Design-Seeds as my inspiration and am currently re-doing my entire house based on color schemes I’ve found here. Thanks for the awesome creativity here!

So I read the “What’s the Color” blog post and I’m still not getting how to find the colors. I hover over the swatches and see nothing. No hex codes (whatever those are), no color names, nothing. I need to buy paint in the next couple of days and don’t want to have to choose the colors by eye based on the image on my iPad! Help!

I just save the photo and open it in photoshop. then I use the color picker tool and voila, you have color code. Buying paint is a whole nother thing. It is very difficult to get a match. If you printed the palette, some hardware places have a tool that can figure out the paint color. However, that is still no guarantee that it will look like you want it on the walls.

hi Wendy…the hover does work, it is just important not to move your mouse at all…takes a few seconds to pop up.
hi Roberta…that certainly works. one thing is that the color shifts (between photoshop and illustrator…web and the original file). the less processes, the more accurate it is…but that certainly an option in getting the info. and you are correct re: paint. every manufacturer has a completely different system for formulating color (boy they make it difficult on us and digital “matchers” are highly inaccurate.

Aha! So it’s the swatches to the SIDE of the palette, not UNDERNEATH!!! Got it now.
I thought I read the instructions thoroughly, several times. But it is possible that I missed that it specified those swatches.

More info: Called my local BM retailer, and they can not mix with hex codes. Googled for ways to convert hex codes to BM colors, but didn’t have much luck. Called BM directly, and this was the first time they had had this type of question. The customer service rep I spoke to is waiting for an excel spreadsheet from another department that might help. emailed him the codes and am waiting to hear back!
